High Current KW Thermal Protector Temperature Control Switch
1. Thermal protector application
KW series thermal protector is a product with temperature-sensing characteristics. The product has the characteristics of advanced structure, small size, sensitive action, large electric shock capacity and long life. It is widely used in household electrical appliances, electric heating appliances, and fluorescent lamp ballasts. Overheating protection for transformers, transformers, automotive motors, integrated circuits and general electrical equipment.
2. Thermal protector structure
2.1 Outline: Structure and Drawings
2.2 Conductor: | tinned copper core wire, the insulation layer is made of polyethylene material, silicone material, and has UL certified wire; . |
2.3 Shell: | PBT engineering plastic shell or metal shell with nickel and zinc alloy plating; |
2.4 Sleeve material: |
PET polyester insulating sleeve or PE type sleeve, which meets the performance requirements of electrical appliances. |
3. Thermal protector performance
3.1 Rated current:

3.2 Operating temperature: 60°C-160°C, tolerance ±5°C
3.3 Lead wire tensile test: The lead wire of the thermal protector should be able to withstand a tensile force greater than or equal to 50N for 1min without breakage or loosening.
3.4 Insulation voltage:
a. The thermal protector should be able to withstand AC660V, 50Hz alternating current between the wiring after thermal disconnection, and the test lasted for 1min without breakdown flashover;
b. The terminal lead of the thermal protector and the surface of the insulating sleeve or the surface of the thermal protector can withstand AC1500V, 50Hz alternating current for 1min without breakdown flashover;
3.5 Insulation resistance: Under normal conditions, the insulation resistance between the wire and the insulating sleeve is above 100MQ. (The meter used is DC500V insulation resistance meter)
3.6 Contact resistance: The contact resistance of the thermal protector should not be greater than 50mQ when the contacts are closed.
3.7 Heat resistance test: The product is placed in an environment of 150"C for 96 hours.
3.8 Humidity resistance test: The product is placed in an environment of 40C and a relative humidity of 95% for 48 hours.
3.9 Thermal shock test: The product is alternately placed in the environment of 150°C and -20°C for 30min each, for a total of 5 cycles.
3.10 Anti-vibration test: The product can withstand an amplitude of 1.5mm, a frequency change of 10-55HZ, a scanning change period of 3-5min, and vibration directions X, Y, Z, and continuous vibration in each direction for 2 hours.
3.11 Drop test: The product is free to drop 1 time from a height of 200mm.
3.12 Compression resistance: Immerse the product in a sealed oil tank, apply a pressure of 2Mpa and keep it for 24h.
3.13 Life: Product life ≥ 10,000 times
4. Thermal protector picture
5 Notes:
5.1 The heating rate of action temperature detection should be controlled to 1 °C/1min;
5.2 The protector shell shall not withstand strong impact and pressure during use.
